Letting Them Participate

Although many brides have trouble accepting it - help can not only be a welcome relief, it can also be a wonderful way to get everyone involved and excited in your big day. Have a bridesmaid that's a terrific artist? Ask her to design a coloring book especially for the kids' tables. Have a friend or family member with a flair for the dramatic? They may be prime candidates for your ceremony readings.

One word of caution. We advise that brides use professional vendors for those elements that are vital elements of your weddings day. It's the best way to ensure you'll get what you want on your wedding day. If friends and family want to contribute, find supporting elements they can contribute - centerpeices for the children's reception, not the main reception. And to ensure that they enjoy your wedding not work through it, hire a vendor to setup and breakdown any element a friend or family member contributes. You want them by your side, relaxing and enjoying the celebration - not assembling the teirs on your wedding cake.
