What will you remember?
Imagine yourself on the flight to your honeymoon. Your and your new husband(!) are sipping champagne and reflecting on the day. What are the items that you anticipate remembering?
Now imagine that you're 70. You and your weekly book club are talking about your weddings. What is it that stands out in your mind years down the road? Is it the flowers? The big party afterwards. The sensational food? What will you still be raving about in forty years. If you can immediately imagine yourself singing the praises of a florist or band some forty years down the road, its probably worth the investment. So splurge away. It will give you conversation fodder for years to come.
